Asked And Answered

We walk this earth every day pondering deep and meaningful questions. Why are we here? What is the meaning of life? What lies in the great beyond? Did I leave the coffee pot on? And, of course, the most pressing of all: who is you? That question was answered this week.

With a 2-3 record through the first 5 weeks of the season, Who Is You looked like a team struggling to find it's way. They were averaging 101 pts/gm - largely buoyed by a big week 1 performance - and they had suffered 3 straight losses in weeks 3 through 5. But something changed after that tough week 5 loss to Los Perros Locos.

In week 6, You would battle and scrape their way to a 1-point victory over the Fat Cats and there was no looking back. In weeks 6 through 12, Who Is You would win 7 games in a row and boost their output to 114 pts/gm.

Despite losing their final 2 regular season games, they would go on to finish with a 9-5 record, the best in the Cactus conference. On to the postseason they went.

In the first round, they would face one of their oldest rivals: the Perros. With their 2 regular season games decided by a total of just 6 points, You left nothing to chance in their 3rd matchup, defeating the dogs by 30 points.

For their second round matchup You would draw the Fat Cats and they knew that, like all kitties, they were not going to lay down and roll over. In the same fashion as their week 6 victory, Who Is You would go on to defeat the Cats by just 4 points, 105-101. Next stop, the championship round...

Their opponent in the SCL Championship Game would be a MaxxCasualties team that had already taken down the top scoring team in the league, Golden Tate Warriors, and a Badazz Bri team that was having their best season since, well...maybe ever.

For Who Is You, the mission was clear: score like they've never scored before. And that they did, defeating the Casualties 151-77 and leaving bodies in their wake. It seems fitting that You scored more in their final game than they did at any other point in the season. After all, that's what champions do - they save their best for last.

Congratulations to Who Is You on a well deserved championship!

P.S. - I'm working on billing and plan to send out invoices after the Pro Bowl. I will be out of town early next week so there may be a slight delay in getting everything reconciled.

GOLDEN TICKET CHALLENGE

Congratulations to our winner, Reek Squad, who assembled the best Golden Ticket roster this season. And as one would expect in this league, we have a tie for 2nd place between the Tallahassee Tator Tots and Pork Chop Express.

PIGSKIN PICK'EM CONTEST

The Tallahassee Tator Tots proved they know how to pick winners and they take the top prize in our Pigskin Pick'em. Finishing 3 games behind the Tots is our 2nd place winner, Deez Nuts.

Player Awards

League MVP: It was a close race, but Blue Ribbon's Saquon Barkley scored 268 points more than a replacement player, beating out (in order) Derrick Henry, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, and Jahmyr Gibbs.

Best Draft Pick: In a field dominated by QBs like Sam Darnold, Jared Goff, and Jayden Daniels, the award for Best Draft Pick goes to Pork Chop Express's Baker Mayfield who delivered 413 points for the low price of just $1.

Worst Injury: The worst injury of the season is awarded to Do Not Panic who drafted Christian McCaffrey for $91 and never once saw him play a snap in the 5 weeks they rostered him.
