Best In Class

Updated: Sep 4, 2019

Clearly some of you studied up and prepared for last night's draft. Others, not so much. But at least you have a team. Kind of.

Before digging into the draft results, I should mention the Power Rankings have been updated to reflect the results of the draft and the ESPN player projections for 2019.

As expected, Saquon Barkley was the most expensive player drafted at the hefty price tag of $75. That's a lot of dough, and it'll be interesting to see if it pays off for Chief Sticky Balls throughout the course of the season.

So how did you do? Probably not as well as you think. Below are the draft grades for each team and before you go off on a rant about how wrong yours is, please remember these are carefully crafted by putting all of the names in a hat and drawing one at a time. They're completely objective.

One look at their faces and you can probably guess who got the F- for their draft. (Pictured from left to right: Paul Merhagen, Jacin Cardenco, John Bradson, and Jawn Wack-Smuth.)

Chief Sticky Balls: A+

Blue Ribbon: A+

Thundabuddies: A

Kirk's Cousins: A-

NH Bounty Hunters: B

Badazz Bri: C+

PORK CHOP EXPRESS: C+

Los Perros Locos: C

Baby Got Dak: C

Who Is You: D+

Hit Em With The Hein!!!: F

Flash Dem TD's: F-

I'll grant you the fact that some of these grades might seem a little rough. For example, Flash Dem TD's receiving a "F-"? We're talking about the defending champs here, folks. Surely they know what they're doing. All they have to do is figure out which of their six RB's will light it up each week. Seems like a good problem to have.

Some of the more interesting picks were made by Baby Got Dak. It appeared their strategy was to corner the market on TE. Let's just say that if you didn't get the TE you were looking for, you should probably hit up Dak for a trade. Just curious, you do realize that you can only start one TE in this league, right?

Another surprising pick was Melvin Gordon. Not because he was chosen, but because he still sold for $21 to Badazz Bri. I expected him to be selected, but I thought after watching Los Perros Locos suffer through an entire season of a LeVeon Bell holdout, owners would've been a little gun-shy. We'll have to wait and see if things work out better for Bri.

And last, but not least, it was good to see the bromance between Hit Em With The Hein!!! and Golden Tate hasn't fizzled.

Good luck in week 1.
