Breaking Down

The regular season is nearing its end and I'm struggling. As I sit down to write this post, I honestly have no interesting or quirky insight to offer you. It's been a long season for me as there was no break moving from our new baseball league right into the football season. No down-time to let the brain recharge.

And, frankly, I'm guessing some of you might be feeling the pressures and exhaustion the fantasy season brings too. So, let's not mince words and get right down to business and break down the various postseason scenarios.

McCaffrey has shown the way to the postseason for the Warriors and Gunkeyes this season.

Sagebrush Cactus League

Eliminated: Consolation Kings, Do Not Panic, Badazz Bri, Thundabuddies, and Who Is You.

Sagebrush Division

The playoff teams are set for the Sagebrush Division and all that's left to sort out is which team will earn a 1st round bye. The Golden Tate Warriors currently hold the #1 spot and they control their own destiny - win this week and they can relax. But if they should fall, the door opens for Jergoff Passout to claim the top spot, provided they win their contest and outscore the Warriors by 30 points.

And though Digg-A-Watts is only 1 game behind the Warriors too, they would need to outscore the Warriors by 146 points. So I think it's safe to say they have the #3 seed locked down.

Cactus Division

The Pork Chop Express may have derailed last week, but they still hold the keys to earning a 1st round bye. If the Chops can find a way to get back on track and win their final regular season contest, they'll be the #1 seed.

However, if the Chops fall, Baby Got Dak could retake the top spot they once held by simply winning their game since they already control the tie-breaker.

The race for the #3 seed in the Cactus Division comes down to the NH Bounty Hunters and Los Perros Locos. The Bounty Hunters can punch their postseason ticket with a victory in week 14 but, if they lose, the door will be opened for the Perros to sneak in - provided they win their matchup.

Segundo League

Eliminated: Belichicks Hoodie, Shiva Kaminis, Ridley's Parlays, Disgruntled Runningbacks, Get In D Carr, and Burrowito Bowl.

Cholla Division

The playoff teams from the Cholla Division are set but, technically speaking, Jalenhouse Rock has not yet secured the #1 seed. Obviously, if Rock wins this week, it's over - they'll enjoy some needed rest in the 1st round. But if they don't win, the Ohio State Gunkeyes could possibly snatch that coveted bye from them if they win and outscore Rock by 103 points. Hey, I didn't say it was likely.

Yucca Division

There's nothing to see here, folks. The stage is set and TJONES35 will be able to sit back and analyze the 1st round contest between the Tallaassee Tator Tots and MaxxCasualties.

Good luck this week!

GOLDEN TICKET CHALLENGE

Only 4 weeks remain and it's clear to me that Baby Got Dak is going to win this challenge. With 173 points between them and their nearest challenger, NH Bounty Hunters, I just don't see a path for anyone to catch them.

Sadly, the race for 2nd place is not much better. The Bounty Hunters hold a 112-point advantage over the 3rd place team, Jalenhouse Rock. If Justin Jefferson can find his way back to the field soon and produce at a level that he's capable of, there's an outside chance Rock might catch them.

SURVIVOR CHALLENGE

The Survivor Challenge in the Sagebrush Cactus League ended as it should have, with 2 teams fighting neck-and-neck to the finish line. The Warriors and Perros final round came down to the MNF game where the Perros had several players trying to push them over the 117-points the Warriors scored. Like the Jags and Bengals, these two went back and forth throughout the game with each holding the lead for short periods of time. In the end, the Perros' players delivered what they need, scoring 123 points to win the final round of the challenge. Congrats.

PIGSKIN PICK'EM CONTEST

Jalenhouse Rock is not taking their foot off the pedal. Leading the field with 9 correct picks in week 13, Rock remains 6 games ahead of their nearest challenger, Pork Chop Express.

In the battle for 2nd place, the Chops hold a 1-game advantage over Baby Got Dak and a 2-game lead over Badazz Bri. Beyond those 3, I'm not sure we'll see anyone else enter the race in the short amount of time we have left.

COMMISH'S PICKS

Baby Got Dak is proving to be a thorn in my side - I pick them to win, they lose; I pick them to lose, they win. Between their antics and Pork Chop Express missing the flight for their contest, I was left with a 4-2 record in the Sagebrush Cactus League.

Belichicks Hoodie has been the toughest team for me to pick this season. Of their 12 games, I've correctly picked them to win or lose 5 times...less than 42%. Their victory over Ridley's Parlays, coupled with a few upset picks that didn't pan out for me, left me with a pitiful 2-4 record in the Segundo League last week.

POWER RANKINGS

In the Sagebrush Cactus League, Baby Got Dak holds onto their #1 ranking despite their loss in week 13. However, the Los Perros Locos rose to #2 and closed the gap with Golden Tate Warriors right behind.

Their worst performance of the season saw the Pork Chop Express fall out of the top 5, to the 6th spot, while Jergoff Passout fell 2 spots, to #4.
