LINE: Chief Sticky Balls -15

One. That's the number of times that Christian McMingle has made it to the playoffs where they lost their only meeting. Interestingly, that one playoff game was against, none other than, Chief Sticky Balls back in the first round of the 2017 playoffs. After losing that contest, 79-69, I'm sure McMingle is excited for a chance at redemption. You would assume that hosting the Balls at the House of Harmony, where McMingle is 5-2 this season, would be a tremendous advantage. However, Chief Sticky Balls clearly has no problem taking to the road where they're 6-0 this year. In fact, the Balls also boast a 4-0 all-time road playoff record. In their only meeting this season, McMingle fell to the Balls in week 2, 127-109. When you consider all of that history and add in the fact that Christian McMingle will likely be without their namesake again, things might look pretty grim. Hence, they're a 3-score underdog. But I have no doubts that they've been using all of this bulletin board material to get themselves ready for this game. Emotion can be a great motivator and, in this case, I think it's enough to see McMingle come out on top of a close, high-scoring, game.

COMMISH'S PICK: Christian McMingle

LINE: Pork Chop Express -9

The last time these two met in the postseason was in the first round of the 2018 playoffs when the Pork Chop Express rolled through Who Is You, 140-119. And although it's a new season, I'm not sure the outcome will be very different. Who Is You has struggled on the road this year with a 2-4 record despite their average of over 109 pts/gm. And coming off a first-round playoff score of 91 points last week, they'll need to take it to another level if they're going to knock off a Chops team that is averaging 121.6 pts/gm at home. Oh, and did I mention the fact that Pork Chop Express has scored below 91 points only once this season? In week 13, when it didn't matter because they had already secured the #1 playoff seed, the Chops posted their lowest score of the season with 89 points. To put that number into perspective, I should point out that that is the highest low-score throughout the league this season and also a point total that Who Is You failed to reach four times. I'd like to say I see this contest coming down to the wire, but I'd be misleading if I didn't admit that I think it could get out of hand. Who knows, maybe Who Is You has a big game and outscores the Chops - something they've done only four times this year. Nah, who am I kidding? Take the Chops and tease the line.
