Get To The Point

What do you get when your Commish is on a very tight deadline because he has to pick up his Commissioners-In-Training from Commissioner School? A short, sweet, and to-the-point recap.

No time to waste. Let's get to it.

There were few surprises on the Sagebrush Cactus side of the league this past week. Teams that should've won probably did. And teams that aren't very good? Well...

For example, Los Perros Locos scored 15% more this week to up their weekly tally to 82 points. This is a team in trouble if I've ever seen one.

And right there with the Perros is Badazz Bri who managed to score less than their 73-point week 1 outing, finishing the week with 72 points.

Maybe someone should tell these two that relegation is not the goal.

The Thundabuddies and Bounty Hunters both won their contests to stay atop the Cactus standings while Chief Sticky Balls, once again, dominated their opponent to take a 1 game lead over the rest of the pack in the Sagebrush division.

With Stefon Diggs (39 pts) and Kupp (25 pts), the Thundabuddies receivers are looking like a force to be reckoned with. We can only imagine the possibilities of this team if their able to get quality play from the rest of their lineup.

And while I don't see the same level of talent from the Bounty Hunters lineup, Lamar Jackson (56 pts) has proven that they don't need it. He's capable of taking over and winning a matchup on his own any given week.

The Tator Tots and Bounty Hunters are hoping Jackson (56 pts) can lead them to many more victories.

For Sticky Balls, Herberts injury could present some problems in the weeks ahead. But with talent like Buccaneers D/ST (35 pts) and Amon-Ra St. Brown (33 pts) picking up the slack, I still don't expect them to be underdogs very often.

Over in SCL Segundo, there is no team as good as The Real Slim Brady. No, really...they're the only 2-0 team in that league.

Scoring 150 points in week 2, Brady further extended their lead in the Power Rankings and they're now almost 10 points ahead of the #2 ranked team, Najee Germany.

I should also take a minute to give a quick nod to Tallaassee Tator Tots [SIC] (139 pts) and BattleBornKid (122 pts) who vastly improved upon their meager week 1 performances.

If you're in the SCL Segundo league, the Cholla division is the one you want to be in. There is currently a 5-way tie for 1st place. The only team that doesn't have a 1-1 record in that division are the lowly Ohio State Gunkeyes, currently 0-2.

In fact, outside of Slim Brady, I'd have to say that the entire SCL Segundo league is wide open for the taking at this point.

And that's all she wrote folks. Apologies for the brief post, but what do you expect. Not all of my articles can be Pulitzer worthy, right?

SURVIVOR CHALLENGE

Jalenhouse Rock (99 pts) and Jergoff Passout (88 pts) came very close to needing their immunity in week 2. Instead, Badazz Bri (72 pts), from Sagebrush Cactus, and Chubby Chase (80 pts) became the latest teams to be voted off the island.

I'm not sure what's in the water in that household, but Chief Sticky Balls (143 pts) and The Real Slim Brady (150 pts) earned themselves immunity for week 3. Here's an interesting stat: the Sticky Balls average 134.5 pts/gm while Slim Brady averages 134.0 pts/gm. Hmmmm...

PIGSKIN PICK'EM CHALLENGE

At the top of the leaderboard, We're on to Cleveland! and Pork Chop Express did well in week 2 to remain at the front of the pack. The big gainers this week were Thundabuddies and Ohio State Gunkeyes who each scored 11 wins and moved up 7 and 12 spots in the rankings, respectively. Chief Sticky Balls fell 15 spots, from 3rd to 18th place while Consolation Kings and Najee Germany each fell 9 spots.

ELIMINATOR CHALLENGE

With another seven contestants eliminated in week 2, this contest looks like it might be over relatively soon. We're now down to four remaining owners, three from Sagebrush Cactus and one from SCL Segundo. We'll have to see if Chubby Chase can outlast the senior crew of Badazz Bri, NH Bounty Hunters, and Baby Got Dak.

COMMISH'S PICKS

You guys are getting better but there's still room for improvement. A 4-2 week in Sagebrush Cactus and 3-3 in SCL Segundo leaves me at a dead-even overall. I'm looking forward to putting together a few great weeks of picks to take my 12-12 record to a new level.

Good luck in week 3!

-- Commish
