For more than 14 years, no one in this league had managed to break the 200-point mark in a single game. Now, in just under a year, we've seen it happen 3 times.
The NH Bounty Hunters are the latest casualty of a 200-point opponent and I'm sure there is no one happier than Badazz Bri. Before this week, Bri was the unlucky victim of the top 3 highest scores of all-time. Now, they're only the victim of 3 out of the 4 highest.
The fact that there were 323 total points scored in the game is incredible, but it shouldn't have come as a surprise to anyone. The Bounty Hunters and Thunda Buddies usually don't disappoint when they meet up. In fact, this week's matchup wasn't even the highest scoring game they've ever played. Back in week 1 of 2013, the first game the NH Bounty Hunters ever played, these two teams combined for 366 points with the Hunters taking the victory, 186 to 180.
I should also take this opportunity to point out that Thunda Buddies now owns 2 of the top 4 highest single-game scores of all time. Congrats!
While the Bounty Hunters are probably going to need some medical attention after that ass-kicking, there were plenty of others around the league that are going to be looking for some therapy after this week.
I'm not sure there has been another week, in league history, where we saw so many premium players injured. With regard to fantasy football, Saquon Barkley's season-ending ACL tear probably has the most impact. Not only will his absence leave a gaping whole in Pork Chop's roster, but 7 of 12 Golden Ticket entries will also be missing out on his production.
Throughout league rosters, there are a lot of injury designations among marquee players that could affect league play for weeks to come. Courtland Sutton is done for the season. Christian McCaffrey is likely out for several weeks. And Cam Akers, Malcom Brown, Raheem Mostert, and Davante Adams each look like they might be at risk of missing a week or two depending on the severity of their injuries.
Something tells me that my Waiver Wire Team That Beat You is about to get picked apart this week as owners scramble to find any available player to fill those roster spots.
The mental health of some league owners is also a concern for me. For the second week in a row, Blue Ribbon scored 127 points. More often than not, a score like that results in a victory. But, in the case of Ribbon, it meant a second straight loss at home. Someone may want to check in on them.
Another team that will need anger management classes this week is Badazz Bri. They'll need the therapy after their upset loss to Flash Dem TD's. Bri entered the final day of the matchup with a 33-point lead over TD's and seemed to be in a great position for victory. All Bri needed was 1 point from their TE, Taysom Hill, to pull out the win, but the TD's defense kept him in check and shut him down to pull off the comeback. To make matters, Bri was left with 3 options on their bench that would've given them the win. Oh, what could've been.
"I literally have no idea what you're trying to say. You drinking already?" - Flash Dem TD's to Badazz Bri
This week's Survivor Challenge fatality was Who Is You. Last week, despite their best efforts, You couldn't pull off the lowest score as TD's posted a dismal 52 points that would not be outdone. Immunity, of course, goes to Thunda Buddies this week.
Lastly, I'd like to remind you all that we have a survey open for ALL league members to vote on potential changes to the league beginning in 2021. It is important that we hear from every owner and only 4 have submitted so far. Please take a minute, CLICK HERE , and voice your opinion on the proposals. Once everyone has voted, I will share the results.
After finishing 4-2 in week 1, I slipped up this week and finished 2-4 leaving me at 6-6 on the season. But, don't you worry - I predict some 6-0 weeks in my future as long as you knuckleheads don't mess things up for me.
Unfortunately, the skinniest part of this team is at the RB and WR positions, which is exactly what most league owners will be looking for. Let the bidding begin...
Good luck in week 3!
