It's Going To Happen

It's not surprising when someone new to our leagues makes a mistake. But each season, I still see veteran league members forgetting about one of our unique rules: waiver bids for players are made with real money.

Like clockwork, every season someone in our league forgets about the rule, or just didn't bother to read it, and submits a massive amount of money for a player because they see their remaining waiver budget is $999. If you haven't already done so, or you need a refresher, CLICK HERE to visit our Baseball League Rules page and study up.

I'll say this once: if you decide to submit a $64 waiver claim for Patrick Corbin, you are committing yourself to send me an additional $64 contribution to the prize pool at the end of the season.

At the end of the season, all monies spent on waiver claim bids will be collected from each owner, added to the money from league fees, and distributed to the league winners. Technically, you could win some of your $64 bid back if you perform well. But let's be real; who among you will actually do well this season?

What's the going rate for a SP with a 6-19 record, 6.31 ERA, and 1.70 WHIP last season?

Another quick note about waivers; they process every Wednesday and Saturday night at 11:00 PM PT. That means our first round of waiver claims will process soon, so if you're one of those that submitted a $39 bid for P.J. Higgins, you should probably adjust your claim before they process. Now's your chance to avoid the embarrassment.

ALL-STAR LINEUP CHALLENGE

Another snag that's likely to happen is that someone in this league will forget to submit their All-Star lineup before they're due on Wednesday, 3/29. And then they'll email me on Thursday and grovel for the opportunity to submit it late. Don't do that.

Give that big red button below a hearty click, submit your lineup, and avoid being that guy.

Currently, I have received three entries, so I'm expecting nine of you to click below. And, if you submit a lineup but decide you want to change it, just re-submit a new form. I will keep your most recent submission as long as it's done before the deadline.

UPDATE YOUR TEAM NAME

Finally, I'm planning to work on the website and database this weekend. I'd like to get everything updated and finalized before the season starts and I have some new goodies I want to reveal.

If possible, please finalize your team name soon so I only have to update it once in the database. If you choose not to update it, you will be stuck with whatever is currently shown...I don't do mid-season changes.

Good luck!
