No Dak, No Problem

Considering what Dak Prescott and the Cowboys did against the Cardinals last week, perhaps it's better that Baby doesn't Got Dak.

Be honest; what would you have guessed Dak's final score would be if I had told you on Saturday that Derrick Henry, Garrett Wilson, and T.J. Hockenson would combine to score just 14 points between the 3 of them? 60, 70, maybe as high as 90?

For those of you that tuned out early last weekend, you not only missed the Dolphins putting 70 down on the Broncos, but you also missed Baby Got Dak's amazing display of offense as they annihilated Jergoff Passout, 208-110.

In addition to starting Tua Tagovailoa and Raheem Mostert, Dak also received 26 points from Zach Moss, 35 from Keenan Allen, 30 from the Lions D/ST, and - I can't believe this - 24 from their K, Matt Gay. Their K scored 24 points! For Dak, it was one of those days where all of your players hit at the same time.

Having already scored 3 TDs, Mostert makes his 4th more interesting by diving over invisible Broncos players.

It seem a little nitpicky to say, but they could've scored more if they had started any of their other WRs instead of Garrett Wilson.

Just incredible. I salute your fantasy prowess, Dak. Well done.

I know what you're going to ask me next: "Is that a record high score?"

No. But it's good for #3 on the all-time list behind the Thundabuddies who scored 210 against the Bounty Hunters in week 2 of 2020, and the league record holder, Team RamRod, who notched 233 points in week 5 of 2019 against Badazz Bri.

Though they weren't on par with Baby Got Dak, there were several other teams that did well this week: MaxxCasualties, Belichick's Hoodie, Consolation Kings, and Thundabuddies. Each of those teams scored 140 points or more and won their contest.

If you look at the trend line of their first 3 scores this season - 131, 68, and 150 - MaxxCasualties should score somewhere in the neighborhood of 72 points next weeks. Fun fact about Casualties in week 3: their bench outscored their starters, 164-150. Yup, De'Von Achane and the Bills D/ST alone were enough to beat a few teams this week, scoring 100 points between the two of them.

"How much longer do you think we have until the other guys realize I'm not throwing it to them?"

Belichick's Hoodie's 145-points was just enough to top a Tator Tots team that also had a good day, scoring 132 points, in a losing effort. In case you're not keeping track at home, the Hoodies are now 2-0 against teams from the Yucca division and they've tallied a total of 268 points in those games for an average of 134 pts/gm. Since next week is another inter-league week, I think you know where to put your money.

And though the Perros showed up with their highest score of the season - 110 points - it was nowhere near enough to beat the Consolation Kings who enjoyed 42 points from a Bills D/ST that they acquired using a 75% off Groupon this season. The Kings' 151-110 defeat means they remain unbeaten in 4 games at Subpar Stadium against the dogs, all-time.

Who had Cousins as the #1 fantasy QB, averaging 31.7 pts/gm, after 3 weeks on their bingo card?

The Thundabuddies don't feature any Dolphins players on their roster, but that didn't stop them from beating Badazz Bri, 142-88. Kenneth Walker and the Patriots D/ST led the charge for the Buddies with 27 and 26 points, respectively. And, truthfully, we should've seen this one coming. In 8 games at The Boone's Farm Drunk Tank, the Buddies are now 6-2 and average 134.88 pts/gm. It's like a second home for them.

I could probably find about 50 other items to discuss from the craziness that was week 3. But let's face it, I've got better things to do than entertain you bozos.

Good luck this week!

GOLDEN TICKET CHALLENGE

A handful of players led to significant changes in the Golden Ticket standings this week. With a multiplier of 1.75, Kenneth Walker and James Conner accounted for 77 total points. And Tua's incredible day netted his owner's another 59 points with Deebo Samuel netting 33 after his 1.5 multiplier was factored in.

Although Baby Got Dak doesn't have any of those players, they retained their lead over the competition thanks, largely, to Justin Herbert.

Only 15 points behind, Digg-A-Watts received quality production from James Cook - 11 points with a 2x multiplier - and James Conner. And the Bounty Hunters are only 3 points behind them, sitting 18 points out of the lead.

I'm enjoying the unpredictability this new format has brought to this contest.

SURVIVOR CHALLENGE

The benefit of having Immunity nearly came in handy for Who Is You this week after scoring only 91 points. Although they won their contest, the Pork Chop Express totaled only 83 points and were handed their hat.

I have no words to describe Ridley's Parlays' lineup choices this week, but I can tell you it didn't work. Not only did they lose their game, but they're off the island too.

PIGSKIN PICK'EM CONTEST

With 11 correct picks this week, Jalenhouse Rock bought themselves a little breathing room from Do Not Panic, Ohio State Gunkeyes, and Badazz Bri who each finished with 10 correct picks. Slipping a little are the Gotham Rogues who fell 2 more behind Rock and now trail by 4 picks overall.

Though they didn't gain on our leader, the Golden Tate Warriors and Thundabuddies each finished 11-5 for the week and saw their standing improve from #14 to #9.

After making poor choices over the first 2 weeks, Who Is You showed up with the best record in week 3 with 12 correct picks, moving from 21st to 14th in the standings.

ELIMINATOR CHALLENGE

Four more teams decided to drop out of the contest this week. Badazz Bri and Thundabuddies fell when the Jaguars lost at home to the Texans, and Who Is You's pick, the Ravens, cost them their entry in a tough loss to the Colts.

Surprisingly, only one team, the Los Perros Locos, selected the Cowboys this week in what I thought seemed like one of the more obvious choices. But it's usually the obvious picks that come back to bite you in this contest, right? Thanks for playing, Perros.

COMMISH'S PICKS

A different week, but the same results: 4-2 in the Sagebrush Cactus League and 5-1 in the Segundo League for an overall record of 9-3 last week. While I slightly off in picking Jergoff Passout to defeat Dak in the Sagebrush Cactus Matchup of the Week, I did get the Segundo one right with my Gunkeyes pick over Get In D Carr.

POWER RANKINGS

No that we're free of any doubt that Baby Got Dak is the #1 team in the Sagebrush Cactus League, we can focus on the rest of the field. Relinquishing their throne, the Chops fell to #2 with Thundabuddies hot on their trail.

But the most improved team this week goes to the Consolation Kings who jumped 3 spots in our rankings, from #7 to #4, after scoring 151 points against the lowly Perros who appear to be on a mission to hit rock bottom.

In the Segundo League, Jalenhouse Rock remains the #1 team by the smallest margin I think I've ever seen; 0.08. Our #2 team, TJONES35, continues to impress and I wouldn't be shocked to see them claim the #1 spot next week if they continue to score as they have.

The two teams that saw the greatest gain are Belichick's Hoodie and Gotham Rogues who both moved up 3 spots, to #4 and #5.

Mysteriously, Get In D Carr fell 6 spots to #8 despite scoring 115 points last week in their loss to the Gunkeyes. I'm not sure what our Ranking Committee is thinking, but I'll assume it's a correction rather than an actual reflection of last week's result.
