The debates will last forever. Tom Brady or Joe Montana? Walter Payton or Barry Sanders? The 1985 Chicago Bears or '72 Dolphins? Shane Lechler or Reggie Roby?
Because of nuance, you can ask 100 people and you'll get 100 different responses to the question: Who is the greatest of all-time? They all played in different eras with different rules, making it difficult to compare them. The only method of comparison we really have is measuring their statistics.
The same applies to this league. We can comb through the stats and try to compare ourselves against each other. Or even against the greatest of all-time. Only, as I mentioned in the last post, it is becoming more difficult because ESPN has deleted the detailed game info from our past seasons. That and I suspect most of you clowns just wait for me to look up the data for you and provide the comparison.
You've probably found yourself wondering in the past, "How the heck did Commish know I'm 3-0 on the road in the playoffs?" Or, "Dude, I wonder if my kicker's 23-point game is in the top 10 of all-time?" Or, "Do you think the Commish saw my 103-point loss?" Or, "Where did Badazz Bri move to? Buffalo?!?"
Well, wonder no more. I know all and see all. And you can too. Mostly.
Throughout the years I've kept a lot of league data stashed away for quick reference. Information that helps me confirm my wise thoughts and keen observations shared throughout these posts.
With the Sagebrush Cactus League now in its 15th season, and with our permanent new home on this site, I thought it only appropriate to dust off the old record books and publish some of them.
Many of you may have already noticed our new History section on the site. For those of you who didn't, just look up near the top of the page. No, higher. No, that's your bookmarks bar. Look in the menu bar. Yes, in between Contest and Rules & Info. Or you could always click on the word History a few sentences back. Or you can just click on the picture in this post.
Whatever. You'll find it eventually. And when you do, let me know what you think.
Enjoy!
