Week 3 Commish's Picks

Updated: Sep 10, 2020

Baby Got Dak are going for their 100th win all-time. But they're doing it without their top WR and their starting QB. Even worse, they're facing a Pork Chop's team with some very favorable player matchups this week. Still worse, I'm sure Pork Chop's will be motivated to avenge the 81-point drubbing Dak gave them in the playoffs last season. I think ESPN is right in that this should be the blowout of the week and Dak will have to wait another week to try to earn that elusive 100th win.

COMMISH'S PICK: Pork Chop Express

I expect this will be one of the closest games this week. Both teams have several players that have under performed in the first couple weeks, but should come around soon. I think the ESPN projections for each are a little lower than they should be and I think each team should score somewhere in the 110-120 range. Even though Thundabuddies are eager to earn their 50th win all-time, I think Perros squeaks by in this one.

COMMISH'S PICK: Los Perros Locos

ESPN projections have this game pegged as a close match and I think I know why: Golden Tate is still suspended. Putting that aside, if there is a weakness on Hein!!! this week, it's at the WR position. Admittedly, it's not a very big weakness though. For Team RamRod, the key to victory will come down to Dak Prescott. If he has another big week, like his first two games, RamRod might be able to pull off the upset. I say "might be able to" because I'm still not convinced there's enough firepower up and down the rest of the lineup to support it. I'm taking Hein!!! with confidence this week even if it ends up close.

COMMISH'S PICK: Hit Em With The Hein!!!

Something seems a little off with Blue Ribbon so far this season. They fell short in week 1 and, in week 2, barely clipped a RamRod team they've usually dominated in the past. Maybe this week is the one where they pick up the pace. After all, they should probably see some nice production out of their D/ST. On the other hand, if they don't get on the ball, Badazz Bri (0-2) could make them pay the price. Although they posted the 2nd highest score last week, they unfortunately played the team with the highest. I like Bri to put up at least 115 this week and since Ribbon has yet to hit that mark this season, I'm going to take Bri by 10.

COMMISH'S PICK: Badazz Bri

In a matchup of the last two league champions, Chief Sticky Balls looks like the easy favorite. Coming off their 167-point game last week, they'll be looking to keep the ball rolling with another big week. On the season, they're averaging 141 point per game. Flash Dem TD's, on the other hand, stumbled last week and found themselves eliminated from the Survivor Challenge as a result. I believe difference maker in this game comes down to QB and K play. I like Murray and Gostkowski to lead the Balls to another victory by at least 18 points.

COMMISH'S PICK: Chief Sticky Balls

The only matchup between unbeaten teams this week should be a good one. They're neck and neck in the Power Rankings (#4 & #5) with Who Is You holding a .21 advantage. Who Is You has had no problems in the first couple weeks as they've defeated both of their opponents rather handily. NH Bounty Hunters have had it a little tougher, but they are 2-0 on the road this season so I doubt that heading into Who Is You's house this week scares them at all. It should be fun to watch the QB play for each of these teams and I expect this will be the highest scoring game of the week. Even though Who Is You is the favorite, something has me taking Bounty Hunters for the upset.

COMMISH'S PICK: NH Bounty Hunters
