There are a few things that are certain in life. Pork Chops will follow up a good game with a mediocre showing. And, whoever plays Badazz Bri will have the best week across the league. It would seem, in this situation, that those facts are mutually exclusive unless the entire league has a bad week. So, how do you reconcile them? Your guess is as good as mine, but I will tell you that the only time Pork Chops visited Bri, it resulted in a 108-56 victory for them. Over the past 5 seasons Pork Chop Express averages 99.63 points in the week after scoring 129 or more. Conversely, it is a little difficult to see how Badazz Bri follows up when allowing an opponent to score 200. But, I will tell you in the week after an opponent scores 150 or more, Bri's record is 6-1 and they average 118.42 points. Given those facts, logic tells you to take Badazz Bri with confidence this week. But where's the fun in that?
COMMISH'S PICK: Pork Chop Express
Thoughts and prayers.
COMMISH'S PICK: Blue Ribbon
Both of these teams are lurking around the bottom of the Power Rankings after 3 weeks and it's pretty clear why. They have a combined record of 1-5 and, between the two of them, have only topped 100 points once. Oddly, ESPN's projections for these two are pretty generous and we could very well see some nice production this week. Historically, Perros is 3-1 against RamRod at home and they have yet to be outscored by RamRod this season. Last season, RamRod put up 134 during their week 8 visit to Perros, but that is the exception, not the rule. In the other 3 games, they only averaged 98 points. I'll take Perros and give 6.5 points.
COMMISH'S PICK: Los Perros Locos
This game will be Bounty Hunters' first trip to Flash Dem TD's and they'll need to play better than they have at home against them. In 3 home games against TD's, the Hunters are 1-2 while averaging 93 points. To make matters worse, Bounty Hunters are also coming off a pitiful 59-point week that saw them eliminated from the Survivor Challenge. Still worse, Flash Dem TD's has the upper hand in favorable player matchups. I'm not going to sugar coat it. This one could get ugly, folks. If Blue Ribbon weren't playing Baby Got Dak, I'd say this game has all the makings of the week's biggest blowout.
COMMISH'S PICK: Flash Dem TD's
113. That's the lowest score Thundabuddies has posted this season. 110.3. That's the average weekly score for Hein!!! this season. Hit Em With The Hein!!! has outscored Thundabuddies only once this season. Yet, somehow Thundabuddies is 1-2 and fighting to remain relevant while Hein!!! is 3-0 and sitting atop the Sagebrush division. Such is the luck of the schedule, I guess. They've basically split their previous 7 meetings with Thundabuddies holding the 4-3 advantage. In those meetings Thundabuddies averages 107.43 points to Hein!!!'s 104. However, Thundabuddies appears to have the better roster this season and with Hein!!!'s players facing some tough matchups this week, I think Thundabuddies should have no problem winning by double-digits.
COMMISH'S PICK: Thundabuddies
This may not be the highest scoring game of the week, but I think it finishes as the closest. Chief Sticky Balls are 5-3 all-time versus Who Is You, but they're 0-2 as the away team, largely due to the fact that their average score against You drops from 121.33 to 84.0 when away. Conversely, Who Is You has only averaged 103.5 at home against Sticky Balls, so they're beatable. Without Barkley in their lineup, it could be an uphill battle for Sticky Balls. But, Who Is You has their fair share of question marks throughout their lineup as well. A few banged up starters and some under-performers facing tough matchups could limite their ability to put up some big numbers. ESPN has Who Is You listed as the favorite, but I'm taking Sticky Balls to pull off the upset in a close game.
COMMISH'S PICK: Chief Sticky Balls
